    We're providing an overview of proposed Council projects that we're seeking your feedback on as well as a list of upcoming engagements and the status of recent projects where we've engaged the community.

Your knowledge and understanding of how Council initiatives are working will help us to improve and to make Port Phillip a great place to live, work and visit.     Help Shape the Future of South Melbourne Market  

    We are reviewing the Market's trading hours and days, and planning some changes to the building and surrounding streets to make it safer and more accessible. Have your say on these changes and how you think we can improve visitor experience and public space around the Market.

    Review of the Heritage Overlay 8 Precinct, Elwood 

    The HO8 Review is part of Council’s ongoing Heritage Program to protect and conserve our City's important history. 

    The HO8 Review aims to update the existing heritage controls and to apply new controls to several properties around Glen Huntly and Ormond Roads in Elwood.

    Improving Road and Pedestrian Safety on Inkerman Street 

    Inkerman Street has a high number of crashes compared to other Council-managed roads with 33 recorded crashes between St Kilda Road and Hotham Street in the five years to June 2022. 14 of these crashes resulted in serious injury. Help improve safety by choosing a concept design you’d like to see delivered.

    Suggest locations for electric vehicle chargers 

    We are installing electric vehicle charging points in our City.

    We want to hear from you where you think these kerbside power-pole mounted charges should be installed. We will then assess sites for suitability.

    Supporting Positive Ageing in Port Phillip 

    The Australian Government has made changes to how it funds services for older people.  In response, Council has developed a proposal to support older people in Port Phillip. Visit Have Your Say for details of Council’s proposal. 

    We are seeking community feedback on this proposal and other ways it can support older people in Port Phillip.

    Help shape upgrades to Sol Green Reserve  

    Earlier this year, we asked for your feedback on Sol Green Reserve (South Melbourne), to understand how you use the park, what works well, and where you see opportunities for improvement. We’ve reviewed your feedback and we’re now seeking your input on our draft concept design.

    Help shape a new Pump Track in Port Melbourne

    We are another step closer to building a new pump track at RF Julier Reserve, Port Melbourne.  

    A pump track is an asphalt track with bumps and jumps for people to use with a bike, scooter, skateboard, rollerblades or other wheeled sports - a community facility for people of all ages and abilities to enjoy. 

    Our specialist designer has developed a draft concept plan which we are excited to share with you. Review the plan and tell us what you think.

    Proudly Port Phillip Community Awards 

    Last held in 2011, and previously known as the Port Phillip Civic Awards, the reinvigorated Proudly Port Phillip Community Awards celebrate the extraordinary community contributions that make us proud to live, work and play in our City. This is your chance to acknowledge the local groups, people and projects that play a key role in shaping our neighbourhoods - the small and the large efforts, the individual and collective efforts. 

    This time around we've also introduced a 'Small Business of the Year' category in recognition of the amazing small businesses across our municipality that make the City of Port Phillip such a vibrant place.

    We will be taking a break from engagement projects over the end-of-year holiday period, and we look forward to further engagement projects in February 2024.

    Thank you to those who provided feedback on previous projects. We're busy analysing and collating your feedback. All project pages on Have Your Say will be updated with a full engagement report as soon as it is available.

    Supporting Economic and Employment Growth in our City 

    Thanks to everyone who provided feedback on the draft Spatial Economic and Employment Framework, a document to support economic growth and vitality in Port Phillip. You can now read the findings from the community in the Engagement Summary Report. The final Framework will be presented to Council for adoption in February and will be shared on the Have Your Say project page after the Council Meeting.  

    St Vincent Gardens Playground upgrade

    Thanks to everyone who provided feedback on the draft concept plan for the playground upgrades, online and at the pop-up event.

    Overall, most responses received throughout the consultation period were positive. You can now read the findings from the community in the Engagement Summary Report. The playground is due to be installed early 2025.
