NAIDOC Week 2025
NAIDOC Week 2025 runs from Sunday 6 July to 13 July.

What is NAIDOC Week?
NAIDOC Week celebrates the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The week is a great opportunity for people from all walks of life to participate in a range of activities that celebrate and support our local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, and to learn about First Nations cultures and histories.
NAIDOC stands for National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee, which was the group in the 1990s that organised national celebrations marking a week of remembrance for Australia’s First People and their heritage. The group's acronym has since become the name of the week itself which is commemorated by Councils and local communities throughout Australia.
NAIDOC Week 2025
The National NAIDOC Theme for 2025 is "The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy". This theme celebrates not only the achievements of the past but the bright future ahead, empowered by the strength of First Nation young leaders, and the legacy of ancestors.
This year, the National NAIDOC Committee celebrates its 50 years of honouring and elevating Indigenous voices, culture, and resilience.
