Health and safety

Creating safe, vibrant communities is an important part of supporting the health and wellbeing of the Port Phillip community.
  • From 12 midday Tuesday 22 September to 6 pm Sunday 24 October, the City of Port Phillip will enter into the Election Period for the Council Elections.

You can still contact us during this period and we’ll resume regular operation on Monday 26 October.

A sense of safety can be affected by both how we perceive and feel about a place, as well as what we witness in that place.

Council works with a number of partners across different sectors to address issues which impact on our health and sense of safety, with a particular focus on family violence, and alcohol and other drug use.

Council also has a legislative responsibility under the Victorian Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008 to prepare a Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan every four years.
