What is it?

Report and consent is an application process. It’s where you consult with Council and seek approval from us to carry out work that:

  • differs from Building Regulations 2018
  • requires special consideration
  • may impact community assets or infrastructure.

Who is it suitable for?

If you’re applying for a building permit, you may need consent before you obtain your building permit approval and start work.

How do I know if my building plans require consent?

A professional who prepares your plans or your building surveyor assessing your plans can advise you when a project requires a report and consent from Council.

You may get advice from your:

  • building surveyor
  • architect or draftsperson.
