What is it?

A Report and Consent is a formal request for Council approval under the Building Regulations 2018 for the following matters:

  • Non-compliant building siting (Part 5 & 6)
  • Protection of Public (Regulation 116)
  • Building Over Easement (Regulation 130)
  • Building in areas liable to flooding (Regulation 153)
  • Building on designated land or for designated works (Regulation 154)
  • Use of a Place of Public Entertainment (Regulation 206)
  • Siting of Temporary Structures (Regulation 207)

How do I know if my building plans require consent?

A professional who prepares your plans such as an architect or draftsperson, or your chosen building surveyor assessing your plans can help you understand you when a project requires a Report and Consent from Council.
