| Register of Authorised officers | Council staff and contractors may be appointed as Authorised Officers to administer and enforce Acts, regulations and local laws related to Council’s functions and powers. The specific powers an Authorised Officer can exercise depend on the legislation under which they are appointed. In accordance with section 224(1A) of the Local Government Act 1989, Councils must maintain a register showing the names of all people appointed as Authorised Officers. Council maintains a Register of Authorised Officers under the Planning and Environment Act 1987 Council also maintains a register of all other Authorised Officers, which is available for public inspection by request. |
