Voting by new citizens
All new citizens over the age of 18 are required to enrol to vote. The Australian Electoral Commission will have a desk at each citizenship ceremony.
This enrolment can be completed at the ceremony and entitles new citizens to vote at Commonwealth, State and Local Council elections.
