We’re co-hosting a series of forums focusing on individual neighbourhoods, where you can learn about important community safety matters from Victoria Police and share your concerns.

Each of the four forums planned for 2024 will be led by local police station commanders, who will share key insights about what is happening within these particular communities.

The first forum is focused on South Melbourne. We are aware of community concerns about anti-social behaviour in Acland and Fitzroy streets and a subsequent forum will be dedicated to St Kilda East and Balaclava. There will also be forums relating to Albert Park and Middle Park and Elwood.

Regardless of location, if you see a crime in progress call Triple Zero (000).

Community safety forum information

There will also be a Q&A session at the end of each forum, where you can raise any questions or concerns you may have relating to the particular neighbourhood that forum is focusing on.

Bookings are not required.

For more information check out our Community safety webpage, where additional details will be made available in the lead up to each forum.

If you see a community safety concern, please report it to police immediately. For urgent matters please call Triple Zero (000) and for non-urgent matters you can lodge it at the Police Assistance Line at 131 444 or at Crime Stoppers at 1900 333 000.

Note about the schedule

We plan to hold more quarterly forums in the future focusing on the neighbourhoods not captured in the current schedule, but we understand that many of our community would like to speak about these areas before then. Therefore, if you are in the one of the suburbs not contained within the selected neighbourhoods, we recommend attending the following sessions:

  • Port Melbourne and Windsor via the Albert Park and Middle Park forum
  • Ripponlea via the Elwood forum
  • Southbank via the South Melbourne
  • St Kilda and St Kilda West via the St Kilda East and Balaclava forum.

Although the sessions will primarily focus on the areas identified, there will be an opportunity for questions and concerns to be raised about these neighbouring suburbs as identified above.
