The Port Phillip Multifaith Network (PPMN) is hosting an event ‘Sharing Voices: belonging, harmony and spirituality’ which will explore the intersecting issues we face as a community while celebrating the best of who we are.

This free event is open to all ages and will take place on Sunday 10 September from 3 pm to 5.30 pm at St Kilda Town Hall.

The PPMN promotes interfaith dialogue and advises Council on all issues relating to interfaith and faith communities in Port Phillip.

It comprises of representatives from diverse religions and faith groups in Port Phillip and is concerned with inclusivity, spiritual health and wellbeing, social justice and re-imagining religion.

The Network has hosted tours to places of worship, held festive evenings, intercultural and multifaith seminars, participated in community tree plantings and engages with a broad range of community members. It aims to foster social cohesion, raise awareness and celebrate the diversity of faith groups in the municipality.

Members include representatives from the Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Jewish and Muslim faiths, as well as members of spiritual and community organisations.

Carey Rohrlach, a Buddhist from the Centre for Awakening Meditation (CARO) and Multifaith Network member said: “Being a part of this multifaith multicultural group allows for the sharing of voices, experience and diversity while responding together to community challenges.”
