The Victorian Multicultural Commission has a Community Directory to help people access settlement and cultural services across Victoria. The directory includes information on multicultural groups, interfaith networks, community language schools and more.

English as a Second Language (ESL)

2021 Citizenship Ceremony dates

Australia Day, Tuesday 26 JanuarySt Kilda Town Hall 

Applicants will receive an invitation from the Department of Home Affairs when they have been assigned a date and you should contact the Department for all questions regarding the status of your application.

Frequently Asked Questions

Voting by new citizens

All new citizens over the age of 18 are required to enrol to vote. The Australian Electoral Commission will have a desk at each citizenship ceremony.  This enrolment can be completed at the ceremony and entitles new citizens to vote at Commonwealth, State and Local Council elections.
