Ride2School Day
What is Ride2School Day?
Join in over 3000 schools nationally who participate in the annual Ride2School Day celebration.
Riding to school is fun, healthy and sustainable, but sometimes we need a special occasion to give it a go. Ride2School is a once a year chance for every student and their guardians to jump on a bike or scooter and join in the fun.
Ride2School Day is officially in March every year, but Council encourages schools to run events throughout the year, when it suits them.

Funding
Every year, the City of Port Phillip provides funding to any school that wants to participate.
Schools can access an Active Travel Rebate which provides funding to run a Ride2School Day event.
How do we celebrate Ride2School Day?

Students (and guardians and teachers!) are encouraged to get creative and decorate their bikes and scooters to make the event more fun and vibrant.
Prizes are awarded to students who ride, walk or scoot to school. We can provide seasonal prizes such as gloves, neck warmers and rain jackets for schools running Winter Ride2School events. Other year-round prizes include bells and hi-bounce balls.
Our Smoothie Bike is a popular addition to Ride2School Day events, with students using pedal power to make fruit smoothies to share. We can also provide a coffee cart with coffees and hot chocolates to keep everyone warm.
We can also support schools by supplying certificates for students, resources for activities and assisting school staff on the day and bringing along our famous Smoothie Bike.
