What is Neighbourhood Watch?

Neighbourhood Watch is a community-led approach to crime prevention that brings local residents and Victoria Police together to help keep neighbourhoods safe, connected and informed.

By working in partnership, neighbours look out for one another, share information and take practical steps to reduce opportunities for crime.

The focus is not only on preventing avoidable offences, but also on building stronger community relationships, increasing confidence to report suspicious behaviour, improving personal and household security through education, and reducing fear of crime so people can feel safer and more supported where they live.
