Online registration

Council manages central registration for childcare and integrated kindergarten for Council-managed and participating community-managed centres.

The Children’s Services Integrated Registration and Enrolment system is known as CSIRE (sounds like "siri").

After registration you will receive a request to set up an account so you can manage your personal details and your preferences for early childhood education and care.

The CSIRE Procedure document outlines the steps to registration and user responsibilities.

What you need to know

Childcare and kindergarten facility upgrades

As part of the redevelopment of Eildon Road Childcare and Kindergarten (ERCK), the service will be relocating to the current North St Kilda site.

ERCK will be operating a full long day childcare and kindergarten service (7.30 am to 6.15 pm) for ages 3 months to 6 years at this site from January 2026 and is now accepting enrolments. All meals are included in the daily cost of $163. If you would like to discuss the service please contact coordinator@eildonroad.com.au or 03 9534 7442.

At North St Kilda Children’s Centre children aged 0-3 years will relocate to Bubup Nairm Children’s Centre from January 2026. 4-year-old children will remain at North St Kilda Children’s Centre.

Following the works at Eildon Road Childcare and Kindergarten, the Avenue Children's Centre will be relocating to the North St Kilda Children’s Centre site and will be open for new enrolments of all ages.

It is expected this will occur in Q1 of 2027. Elwood Children's Centre will be the third service to relocate to the North St Kilda site. At this stage that is expected to occur in 2028.

  • Make an appointment and visit any centres you are interested in before registering.
  • Register your child any time after they are born.
  • Registration is free.
  • You will be offered a place when your requirements match a centre’s vacancy.

To give yourself the best chance of a place, we recommend that you:

  • be as flexible with your registration choices as possible
  • accept an offer at one of your chosen centres, even if it does not match your exact needs (families that are enrolled and attending a service will be offered additional or more preferred days before others)
  • select the centres you have viewed and would accept an offer from, in order of preference (up to a maximum of 5)
  • if you are not tied to specific working days, select multiple days of the week
  • be flexible in the number of days you select
  • be flexible with your starting date if offered earlier.
