• Unexpected closures and weather

  We are sometimes unexpectedly closed. The best way to check if the playgrounds are open is to visit our Google page.

  The playground may close unexpectedly for the following reasons:

  • The temperature is over 35 degrees.
  • The forecast temperature is 38 degrees or above.
  • Hail, heavy rain, strong winds and thunderstorms.
  • Poor air quality from smoke, bush fires or pollution.
  • Maintenance, safety audits and staff training.
  • Low staffing. The site must be supervised by at least two workers.
  • When specific programs and activities are being run.

• Support services

  We offer school holiday programs and activities which are open to all children. More information can be found via posters in the playgrounds. available during school holiday times.

  We also offer programs during the week for children aged 5-12 years old and who are referred to us. These include:

  • After-school walking bus from St Kilda Primary School to St Kilda Adventure Playground every Thursday
  • Thursday evening dinner

• Conditions of entry

  We have the below conditions of entry:

  • Opening hours are subject to change due to extreme weather events, staffing availability, programming or maintenance. The best way to check if the playgrounds are open is to visit our Google listing.
  • The Playgrounds adhere closely to child safety standards at all times.
  • Adults are only permitted in the Playgrounds when accompanying a child or children.
  • No alcohol, smoking, drugs or anti-social behaviour are permitted in or around the playgrounds.
  • No dogs or pets into the grounds (service animals only).
  • Respect privacy by only taking photos and videos of you and your family or group in the Playgrounds.
  • We encourage healthy eating. We encourage families to bring snacks that are healthy and nutritious.  
  • The Adventure Playgrounds are a complete nut free zone. We ask all visitors with any form of special or restricted dietary requirement bring all their own food, snacks and meals.
  • Care for the environment by using the correct bins and not dropping rubbish on the ground.
  • Visitors are always responsible for any personal items while visiting the Playgrounds.
  • Staff reserve the right to use designated sitting areas for scheduled programs. Visitors must keep these sitting areas (including undercover areas) free when staff need to set up for programs.

• Bookings

  We do not accept group bookings (such as for birthdays).

• Child Safe Standards

  We are committed to the safety and wellbeing of young people and have a zero tolerance approach for child abuse. This is enacted through our Child Safe Standards.

  All Adventure Playground staff ensure a child’s safety through robust prevention, training, supervision, policies, and reporting activities. They adhere closely to child safety standards as they run programs.

  If a staff member suspects or receives a report that a child is the subject of abuse or negative treatment they are obliged to report it through appropriate channels. This can include authorities such as Child Protection or Victoria Police.

  All complaints/concerns raised will be treated with strict privacy, seriousness and confidentiality.
