On Friday 22 May 2026, women from across Port Phillip’s sporting community gathered at the South Melbourne Life Saving Club for a day focused on confidence, communication and connection.

As part of the Women in Sport Network, the Confident Communicators Masterclass, delivered by Carol Fox, brought together 20 participants from a wide range of roles in local sport. Coaches, administrators, officials and club leaders came together, many already playing key leadership roles within their clubs.

Throughout the day, the group explored practical tools to strengthen communication and presence in sporting environments. Just as importantly, the session created space for participants to share experiences, reflect on challenges and connect with others navigating similar roles across different sports.

A strong sense of openness and support developed in the room, with participants engaging deeply and learning from one another as much as from the session content itself.

The Masterclass formed an important part of the ongoing development of the Women in Sport Network, supporting women’s participation and leadership across local sport.
