About the artist

Corey Thomas is an Australian artist whose practice evolved from dance into sculpture, retaining a deep sensitivity to movement, spatial tension, and embodied experience.

Thomas creates materially driven works that investigate the relationship between form, landscape, and storytelling. Central to his practice is an intuitive engagement with site. Responding to the physical and cultural conditions of a place, Thomas works with locally sourced and site-responsive materials to develop sculptural narratives informed by environment, memory, and collective history.

His works emerge through a sustained dialogue with landscape — shaped as much by atmosphere and materiality as by the stories and social rhythms embedded within a location. Thomas has developed a multidisciplinary career spanning public art, theatre, community collaboration, and large- scale installation. His projects have been commissioned by local, state, and federal government agencies, as well as private and corporate clients, positioning his practice within both civic and contemporary art contexts.
