Why are we doing this?
Council upgraded the beach volleyball facilities to ensure they met current standards and could be effectively managed as part of the wider public asset network. The works included the installation of new posts and nets to support safe and reliable community use.
The growing popularity of beach tennis highlighted the need for a more flexible setup. The new system was designed to better accommodate both volleyball and beach tennis users, making it quicker and easier to switch between the two activities.
These improvements created a more inclusive and adaptable space, ensuring all users can enjoy their preferred beach sport.
The impact
New equipment has been installed and ready to use.
Objectives
Two new beach volleyball nets were installed, featuring adaptable runner systems that can be easily adjusted between beach tennis and beach volleyball heights. This design reduced the need for manual setup and provided improved, more efficient facilities for both user groups.
