Council's sustainability action
Updated sustainability strategy
Reviewed Act and Adapt Sustainable Environment Strategy 2023 - 28
The reviewed and updated Act and Adapt Sustainable Environment Strategy 2023 - 28 provides the direction for Council and community to act together to respond to the challenges our city faces due to climate change. The revised strategy is complemented by the Implementation and Monitoring, Evaluating, Reporting and Improvement guide (MERI).
New Climate Emergency Action Plan
The new Climate Emergency Action Plan follows Council's declaration of a Climate Emergency in 2019 and is a five-year roadmap with actions designed to tackle the climate emergency already underway in our city.
Council's five priority focus areas
We are committed to creating a Sustainable Port Phillip by focusing on five priorities.
City of Port Phillip: Greenhouse Gas Emissions
Sustainability performance website
The City of Port Phillip now has a publicly available website documenting our sustainability performance. The new website features four data sets and enables people to explore emissions by location and timeframe in real time. You can also log in to create your own graphs and download the data for use. Universities and researchers may also wish to access this data. Further data sets will be added as they become available.
