Resident and Visitor parking permits let you park within your designated permit area. You must be parked in front of, or adjacent to, a 100% residential property.

Within your permit area, you can park in:

  • permit zone restrictions
  • time limited restrictions (green signs) which are 30 minutes or longer
  • paid parking locations

Your permit is not valid when used to park in the following locations:

  • commercial / retail / mixed use and industrial properties
  • community land uses and along the foreshore (including foreshore parks and recreational spaces)
  • clearways, no stopping areas, loading zones, taxi zones, bus zones, car share and disability parking
  • off-street car parks.

If your permit displays a (B), it means your home is located on a boundary street. This allows you to park on both sides of the street between adjoining permit areas, as long as you remain within the City of Port Phillip. Properties located on a boundary with the foreshore, or a reserve, may only use their permit to park on the residential side of the road.

Resident and Visitor permits are only valid when used to attend the property they are issued to. Permits are not valid when used for any other purpose.
