Service changes this holiday season

Changes to waste and recycling services  

This Christmas, kerbside waste collections will change during Christmas week:

• There will be no kerbside waste collections on Christmas Day (25 December).
• Collections will resume on Boxing Day (26 December) and will move forward by one day. Friday’s collection will occur on Saturday 27 December.
• There will be no Hard and Green waste collections on Christmas Day, 25 December.
• The Port Phillip Resource Recovery Centre will be closed on the public holidays: 25 December, 26 December and 1 January 2026.

Changes to service desk operating hours

During the upcoming festive season, please note the adjusted operating hours.

Contact Centre 

• Open: Normal hours (8.30 am to 5 pm) except public holidays
• Closed: December 25, 26 and January 1
• Our after-hours call centre will be handling urgent calls and escalations over the public holidays.

St Kilda Town Hall (SKTH)

• December 24 to January 2: Open 8.30 am to 4 pm (closing one hour earlier)
• Closed: December 25, 26 and January 1
• Normal hours resume: Monday, January 5 (8.30 am to 5 pm)

Port Melbourne Town Hall (PMTH)

• December 24: Open 10 am to 1 pm
• Closed: December 25 – January 2
• Normal hours resume: Monday January 5 (10 am to 5 pm)
