Why are we doing this?
Council received multiple requests for communal garden beds at Hewison Reserve. This site was chosen as it offers suitable, available space that is currently underutilised. The new communal garden bed plots will sit to the North of the existing accessible picnic and BBQ area. The location has been selected for ease of user access and has been designed with to accessibility requirements.
The impact
A small part of Hewison Reserve to the North of the existing accessible BBQ and picnic table area will be inaccessible to the public during construction.
Objectives
A small communal garden plot will be delivered at Hewison Reserve for the community to enjoy and consist of:
- four new raised wicking beds
- compacted gravel surface
- new tap for watering purposes
- lockable storage box for tools and equipment.
