We’ve installed dog waste bag dispensers in high-traffic areas across Port Phillip as part of a new trial to keep our public spaces clean, safe and inviting.

Our Tidy Walks trial makes it easier to be a responsible pet owner, with 12 waste bag dispensers installed in convenient locations such as parks, shopping precincts and near veterinary clinics.

We’re asking dog owners totake one if you need one”, so that bags remain available for everyone.

With more than 8,500 registered pooches in Port Phillip and many more four-legged visitors enjoying our parks and foreshore, our waste bag dispensers aren’t intended to supply every walk. Instead, they’re here to have your back when you forget your own bag, ensuring you’re never stuck without a way to clean up after your pup.

By bagging and binning pet waste, we can all contribute to keeping our streets and parks cleaner, protecting our local environment and creating more welcoming public spaces for everyone.

Tidy Walks is a 14-month trial to understand if providing waste bag dispensers is an effective way of reducing pet waste across the City.

The trial aligns with our Domestic Animal Management Plan, which focuses on safety, amenity, and responsible pet ownership.
