Making it easy at the Resource Recovery Centre

Published 24 October 2025
We have made it easier to understand what you need to pay when you arrive at our Resource Recovery Centre (RRC). We have introduced fresh signage that clearly explains what materials we can accept, and our fees for dropping off waste for landfill.

Our signs explain what any visitor can expect to pay based on their vehicle type, their load and other factors including if they’re a resident. The signs also include specific pricing for vehicles that have become more popular among our community, including SUVs (Sport Utility Vehicles).

We have updated our website to match the fresh signage – this is the best place to visit to stay up to date: Resource Recovery Centre - City of Port Phillip.

The goal of our new signage and updated web pages is to provide a consistent experience for all visitors to the centre.

5 tips for visiting the Resource Recovery Centre

When you visit the RRC, remember the following to ensure a smooth experience for yourself and our staff.

  1. Bring ID: If you are a resident, you must bring identification that shows your current address on it. Non-residents can use the centre too but will need to pay different fees.
  2. Sort and separate your items before arriving: Please ensure that recyclables and non-recyclable items are sorted separately. This helps staff to quickly and accurately provide a quote for the disposal of any non-recyclable items.
  3. Prepare to pay by card / contactless: We cannot accept cash at the Resource Recovery Centre, we accept card only. Bank Surcharges are passed on to the customer.
  4. Stay up to date on fees and what we accept: It might have been a while since you’ve visited us, and things may have changed – check out our web page to stay up to date.
  5. Show respect for our staff: Our staff are here to listen and help. Please treat them with respect when you visit the RRC.
