Geography of the area

The St Kilda Road neighbourhood is bounded by St Kilda Road, High Street and Punt Road to the east; Queens Road to the south; Albert Park Lake and Kingsway to the west; and Dorcas Street to the north.

Characteristics

The St Kilda Road neighbourhood is unique within the City of Port Phillip due to its mix of office uses and high-rise residential. More traditional housing forms a minor component of the neighbourhood, with some remaining examples from the Victorian and Edwardian eras.

This neighbourhood has experienced significant residential development from the early to mid-1990s, which is continuing.

The neighbourhood is well served by trams and buses. Both provide easy access to the CBD and other suburbs.
