Remembrance Day

Remembrance Day is a memorial day to mark the end of the First World War to honour armed forces members who have died in the line of duty.

Remembrance Day 2022

Our 2022 event will reflect on our community’s service, contribution and sacrifice in armed conflict with a Remembrance service on Sunday 6 November at 4.55 pm at the Port Melbourne Remembrance Garden (Walter Reserve).

The event will be hosted by City of Port Phillip Mayor Marcus Pearl. A full program can be viewed here:

Our 2021 Remembrance Day event was held virtually on Sunday 7 November. You can watch the recording of the past events below.

The 2020 Remembrance Day event featured the launch of Through childhood eyes: hidden stories of World War Two - a soundscape of memories by child residents of our City who lived through the war, voiced by children living in Port Phillip today.

'Through childhood eyes: hidden stories of World War Two' was supported by the Victorian Government through the 75th anniversary of the end of World War Two Grants Program.
