Location

Moubray Street, Albert Park (located next to Albert Park Primary School)

Cost

This project has a budget of $800,000.

Why are we doing this?

In July 2013, a trial pop-up park at Moubray Street was first established. The park has since proven to be popular with Albert Park Primary School and the broader community.

To take the park from pop-up to a permanent fixture, a range of upgrades are required.

Construction is set to take place between early April to late June 2024 and upgrades will include:

  • removal of the roadway
  • new accessible pathways and park fence
  • new park furniture including benches, picnic tables and a shelter
  • communal garden beds for the whole community to enjoy
  • a new recreation zone including a netball ring and rock climbing wall
  • new grass, plants and canopy trees.

The impact

For the safety of the community, there will be no public access to the park for the duration of construction.

We understand that this may cause some inconveniences. We thank you in advance for your patience.

Objectives

The objective of the project is to create a permanent park for the community to use and enjoy on an ongoing basis.

The upgrades also aims to improve usability and biodiversity of the current park space.
