Apartment buildings house large amounts of people and public common areas such as building entrances, exits, corridors and lifts pose a greater risk for the spread of COVID-19.
Please refer to apartments and multi-dwelling properties for the latest information from the Victorian Government.
For further advice on owners corporations, please refer to Consumer Affairs Victoria.
Posters for communal areas
The Victorian Department of Health has developed a series of information posters about how to stop the spread of COVID-19 in apartments and multi-dwelling properties. Owners corporations are encouraged to print and prominently display these posters in common areas throughout their property, to raise awareness among residents.

- Slowing the spread of coronavirus.
Cleaning public common areas
Owners corporations should consult with their cleaning contractors to ensure that the best methods of cleaning are being undertaken in all public common areas. It is also recommend that you consider temporarily closing any high-risk communal spaces such as swimming pools, spas, gyms and BBQs while COVID-19 remains a high risk to the community.
