About Summer Sessions
To celebrate the diverse and vibrant City we all love, we are introducing a program of outdoor entertainment and activities that everyone across the City can enjoy and that will continue throughout the summer.
The Summer Sessions program embraces our post-lockdown freedoms while supporting a COVID-safe re-opening. All events are outdoors, bringing our community together, and driving foot-traffic to outdoor areas while supporting our local traders. Summer Sessions has something for everyone’s taste from face painting to live music to outdoor yoga.
Live music and other outdoor events will be a feature of this summer's community activities. These are small pop-up events to bring the community together across the three locations. We do not anticipate these events will have any negative impact on the surrounding areas
Our events will energise and bring the community together in our public spaces, while increasing pedestrian foot traffic and economic activity in our neighbourhoods to provide a boost for our local traders.
Live Love Local Summer Sessions kicked off on Friday 17 December at Cleve Gardens in St Kilda. The launch event marked the beginning of 12 weeks of creative activities across three locations at Cleve Gardens in St Kilda, Burnett Grey Gardens in Ripponlea, and Town Hall Reserve in South Melbourne. The diversity of our events reflects the diversity of our community. Whether you’re enjoying me-time or family time or catching up with friends, Summer Sessions has something for you. Check out our line up below and follow this page for more activities throughout the summer.
Summer Sessions events continue on Saturday 15 January and Sunday 16 January with more live music, face painting, inflatable handball and a Lego workshop across our three locations.
Summer Sessions is made possible with the support of the Inner Metro Partnership and funding from the Victorian Government.
