Recycling Reset

With so much going on this year, it’s been easy to forget about waste. Find out what can go in your yellow recycling bin and recommit to recycling right.

Usually, our City is recycling-proud, but through the pandemic we’ve understandably had other things on our mind, and how we recycle has slipped a bit.

The problem is, though, waste doesn’t go away and recycling right is crucial for the health and wellbeing of our community and our environment.

So, we invite you to take part in our Recycling Reset.

What is the Recycling Reset?

With recent changes to the recycling industry, what we thought we knew about recycling has changed too. It’s a great time for all of us, from the recycling-wannabe to the waste-pro, to refresh our knowledge about what can and cannot go into the yellow recycling bin.

How can I get involved?

We're asking that you reset and recommit to recycling right. Take the time to review what can go in your recycling bin and commit to putting the right thing in the right bin.

Keep an eye out for more recycling information in your letterbox soon. In the meantime, we’ve put together this guide to help you sort it out.

We've also created a poster to help you get your weekly recycling collection right. Download the recycling poster (PDF 2.2 MB) to put in your apartment bin bay or share online.

Please ensure you put items into your bin loose and never in plastic bags.
