Nominations open for 2022 City of Port Phillip Design and Development Awards

From apartments to urban art, the Awards have been celebrating innovative and imaginative design in Port Phillip since 1998.
Mayor Marcus Pearl said the awards reflected the City’s longstanding commitment to planning for growth while maintaining the unique character of Port Phillip’s diverse and distinctive neighbourhoods.
“The 10-year Community Vision at the heart of our 2021-31 Council Plan is for ‘a liveable and vibrant City that enhances the wellbeing of our community’,” Cr Pearl said.
“Great design helps us achieves this Vision as it raises the liveability for everyone in our City. It encourages creativity, engenders a feeling of safety and can create sustainable spaces leading to a greener city.
“The standard of entries for our Awards is always impressive and we are looking forward to recognising these additions which contribute to our City’s reputation as a wonderful place to live, work and visit.”
The nine categories are:
Residential dwelling: new build
Residential dwelling: alteration / addition
Residential dwelling: Multi-unit or mixed use
Strategy or plan
Public and institutional
Art by development contribution
Interior: non-residential
Sustainability
Heritage
