The following websites and organisations provide specific information and services to young people on a range of topics.
Assistance and Support
Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA)
Their purpose is improving the lives of Australians by creating opportunities for economic and social participation by individuals, families and communities.
Youth.gov.au - The Commonwealth Government's interactive youth website offering resources, contacts, programs and essential information. The site provides online support and links around careers, studying, money, health, legal rights and much more. There are lots of links and array of sites all offering further opportunities for young people to participate, have a say and keep informed.
Reach Out - Reach Out! is a web-based service that inspires young people to help themselves through tough times. The site assists in sorting stuff out, finding help and providing online "chill-out" space. The aim of the service is to improve young people's mental health and well being by providing support information and referrals in a format that appeals to young people.
Kids Help Line - 1800 55 1800 is a free and confidential, telephone counselling service for 5 to 18 year olds in Australia. The Kids Help Line website consists of information regarding the calls the service receives, web counselling, email counselling, publications and much more.
Bursting The Bubble - Have you ever felt like this? If there's something happening at home that makes you feel confused or worried, or that's being kept a secret, then you're not alone. And there are things you can do about it. This website can help!

General Youth Websites
These websites are targeted specifically at young people and each cover a range of topics.
The Office For Youth - (03) 9637 3164, runs a range of programs and plays a leadership role in coordinating research and policy development on youth issues. Website includes detail on a range of activities including Youth Policy and Research, Youth Round Tables, Victorian Youth Development Program, Regional Youth Committees, FReeZA and Youth Services Program
Youth Website - YouthCentral is the new online youth participation project that connects young people with government and their community. This is a site "for young people, by young people" that includes competitions, polls, events, information, links or features that are relevant to young people
InfoXchange Youth - Excellent site to post and read about information, events, media releases, programs, training/workshops and what's happening in the Victorian youth sector and elsewhere (Infocast) & lists other websites and Youth resources. The main Infoxchange site infoxchange can help you find lots of community-related things in Victoria.
VicNet Youth - Provides links for young people on many topics, including entertainment, health issues, recreation, sporting clubs, community groups, youth websites and more. The main Vicnet site www.vicnet.net.au can help you find lots of community-related things in Victoria.
Youth Gas - Australia-wide youth related programs, events, conferences, calendar, topics and what's news.
Health Issues
Many health issues affect young people in our community, including physical and mental health, sexual health, problematic substance use and disability. Counselling and crisis services are available. See the page for contact information.
Youth Research
University of Melbourne Youth Research Centre - Identifies local, national and international research issues relevant to young people; conducts appropriate, relevant and useful research that addresses these issues.
International Youth & Public Space network - International youth & public space network. Support research and critical examination of issues around young people's utilisation of various types of space, identifying areas of commonality and difference across different states and localities.
