Alma Park - new senior playground

The senior playground is getting a total face lift. Several new free standing play pieces, re-design of the 'slug' including mosaic facial features and a revamp to the picnic facilities with the addition of the new 2 and 3 metre picnic tables which will cater for parties and group gatherings.

Garden City Reserve Upgrade Port Melbourne

The landscape plans have been finalised and made available to 400 households adjacent to the reserve. The plans have been developed to incorporate community wishes following the Information Day on May 5 2007.

Proposed Funding

Proposed Stage 1 2008/2009 Financial Year; $280,000

Tree and indigenous plantings, widening of existing paths and development of new paths along worn tracks to link the paths throughout the park installation of new  furniture and design of lighting for the 3 major paths within the reserve (Design 2008-09 - installation 2009-10)

Proposed Stage 2 2009/2010 Financial Year; $220,000

Installation of safety lighting along 3 paths as per design 2008-09, improved turf conditions, removal of car park from park - reinstalaltion of car park into Tucker Avenue along fotpath. Reserarch into historical context of park for interpretation.

Proposed Stage 3 2010/2011 Financial Year; $110,000

Park signage and historical/interpretive markers where appropriate

Melbourne Main Sewer Replacement

At the information session held on the 6th of February, a number of residents made enquiries regarding the proposed works to the Melbourne Main Sewer.  Specific information regarding the Sewer project can be found on Melbourne Water's website at
