A Vehicle Crossing permit must be obtained for the installation of new vehicle crossovers, temporary vehicle crossovers, temporary vehicle crossovers or repairs/alterations to existing vehicle crossovers. Several issues are considered before a permit can be issued, such as whether the property is in a heritage area, impacts on services, infrastructure and public assets, safety impacts on pedestrians, road users and the public, and on street parking availability and demand for the area. All application sites are inspected and referred to the Planning, Traffic Management, and infrastructure departments for assessment before a permit can be approved. PaymentApplication fees must be paid upon application otherwise the application will not be accepted. If the assessment of the application determines that it is appropriate to issue a permit, all remaining permit fees and charges must be paid prior to the permit being issued. How long will an application take to assess?Applications take 15 business days to assess provided no further information or changes are required. Works must not commence without a permit.
