Tree Management Policy Community Reference Group

Are you interested in the future of City of Port Phillip trees?

Council is seeking community members to join our Tree Management Policy Reference Group.

Port Phillip is well known for its magnificent parks and gardens, foreshore and iconic tree lined boulevards and streets.

To protect this heritage council wants to develop a tree policy to help us manage our trees.

What is the purpose of the reference group?

Those interested in joining the reference group can:

  • Provide representative community input and/or expertise into trees
  • Ensure the views of the community and community group’s are taken into account
  • Ensure the views of all stakeholders are known and given full consideration.
  • Ensure the outcomes consider all relevant strategies, policies and legislation.

Who is eligible?

Council seeks to achieve a mix of skills and a broad representation of the Port Phillip community based on geographic location, age, gender, members who are of non-English speaking background and indigenous peoples.

Council seeks community members who have no commercial interest in the management of trees in the City of Port Phillip.

What is the time commitment?

We estimate there will be 4-6 meetings from October 2009 until the end of May 2010.
