Transport Strategy & Policy City of Port Phillip logo

There's much fun to be had messing about in boats at St Kilda Pier.

Through its consultation with residents, the City of Port Phillip has consistently received the key parking and transport message that residents want:

  • To reduce the impact of motor vehicle on the city, through the provision of better walking, cycling and public transport networks
  • Parking to be rationalised as fairly as possible through the appropriate management of parking restrictions and permits
  • Urban planning to minimise the need for and impact of travel.

Parking policy: your questions answered The City of Port Phillip has proposed a new parking policy for new developments. The policy is aimed at ensuring there is adequate parking in the city, while also promoting non-car transport options.
