| Road Type | Frequency |
|---|---|
| Main roads | Weekly |
| Residential street | Twice per month |
| Major shopping centres | Twice daily |
Cleaning Days
The Street and Beach Cleaning Map shows the street cleaning days for your neighbourhood. Cleaning takes place between 6am and 4pm.
Residential Streets
The residential streets of Port Phillip are cleaned twice per month. Your street will be cleaned by a combination of a mechanical street sweeper and workers with rakes and brooms. Residents can improve the effectiveness of cleaning by moving parked cars off the street, on the scheduled cleaning day, where alternate parking is available on the property.
Laneways
The laneways of Port Phillip are cleaned four times a year. Your laneway will be cleaned by a combination of a small mechanical sweeper and workers with rakes and brooms. Residents are required to cut back trees and shrubs overhanging the lane from their property. Laneways should not be used to dump rubbish, branches etc, as this is an offence under council's local law and can result in a penalty to offenders.
