Each year the City of Port Phillip undertakes a number of major planning projects, generally reviewing major land use issues or policy changes that affect land use and development in the municipality. Current projects are included in this section.

Beacon Cove Changes to Beacon Cove planning controls
Housing Strategy 2007 The Housing Strategy updates the 1997 Housing Strategy to reflect the changes that have occurred to housing policy since that time. The Strategy also provides a locally relevant response to Melbourne 2030 and the Inner Regional Housing Statement
Activity Centres Strategy The Port Phillip Activity Centres Strategy provides a holistic understanding of the complex role and function of activity centres and the contribution that they can make to creating sustainable local communities.
Ormond Road Urban Design Guidelines The Ormond Road Urban Design Guidelines, which are proposed to be implemented through Amendment C57 to the Port Phillip Planning Scheme, identify an appropriate form of development within the retail and residential areas of Ormond Road
