The St Kilda Esplanade Arts & Crafts Market has close to 150 stalls offering a variety of original art and handcrafts. The stallholders are the makers so you can find out all about the product you are purchasing from the artist who created it.
Hours
10am to 5pm every Sunday of the year, except St Kilda Festival Day (2nd Sunday in February)
Location
The Esplanade, St Kilda, between Cavell & Fitzroy Streets. Melway Reference 57 K10
Applying for a stall
- This is an art and craft market and does not allow the sale of food or plants.
- It is a "makers' market". Applicants must design and produce the goods for sale.
- As there are already many jewellery and bag stalls at the market, only products of an extremely high standard and originality will be considered for new stalls.
- Stalls are now available on a permanent or casual basis. For information about being a casual stallholder please contact the St Kilda Market Co-ordinator on the numbers listed below.
Viewing Sessions
- Prospective stall holders are invited to attend one of the quarterly viewing sessions to show samples of the goods they wish to sell at the market.
- Appointments are not necessary.
- The selection committee meets following each viewing to discuss all applications and make the final decision.
- All applicants will be advised of the outcome of the viewing approximately two to three weeks after the session.
- If successful, upon full payment of a stall fee you will be issued with a probationary 3 month trading permit.
- Only products that have been approved at the viewing will be eligible to be sold at the market.
Viewing sessions are held on the second Wednesday of the months of February, May, August and November.
