The City of Port Phillip is showing leadership by planning in an integrated way for an area that is experiencing significant change.
Nestled between the Southbank highrise precinct and the Albert Park Reserve, the South Melbourne Central precinct is a genuine example of an integrated mixed-use precinct anchored around the South Melbourne Market and Clarendon Street strip shopping centre.
Council has developed frameworks and concepts for the design and revitalisation of this authentic urban centre and has prepared the South Melbourne Central Study.
This study consists of the South Melbourne Central Background Report, the South Melbourne Central Structure Plan and Implementation Strategy and the South Melbourne Central Urban Design Framework.
