SecondBite is a not-for-profit organisation that collects surplus food from Melbourne wholesalers, retailers, events, markets and caterers and restaurants and redistributes it to over 55 food relief charities who provide meals to homeless and disadvantaged people.

In 2007, SecondBite stopped 132 tonnes of fresh food going to landfill enough food to provide 264,000 hearty 500gm meals. In 2008, SecondBite is well on the way to collecting 250 tonnes.
