What You Can Put in the Bin
- Glass (bottles and jars only)
- Plastic containers with codes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 only *
- Gable-top and long-life milk & juice cartons
- Aluminium, steel cans, aerosols and clean foil
- Paper and Cardboard (non-waxed type only)
*Excluding Polystyrene - this can be disposed of in the rubbish bin or at the transfer station
Other notes
- You do not need to remove the labels from tins or bottles, however you will need to remove all plastic bottle lids. If plastic lids are not removed it makes it more difficult to squash the bottles and bale them.
- Cans, tins and anything that have been in contact with food should be cleaned before being put in the recycling boxes/ bins. A quick soak in the last of your washing up water or as part of your dishwasher load, is all you need to do.
- For a Full list of what you can and can't recycle please download our A-Z guide to Waste and Recycling.
