What are the local places you would describe to someone far away?

What is the image you would put on a postcard to represent your neighbourhood?

What are those places that make you feel connected to your community?

Cultural icons are an important visual representation of our ‘sense of place.’  These icons become symbols that evoke particular shared values, the love and lore of our particular geography.

As our communities develop and change it is important that we identity and honour these places important to us.  Through Autumn 2011 a series of Photography Night Walks captured the neighbourhoods of Port Phillip.

The City of Port Phillip sponsored a local series of Photography Night Walks throughout April and May 2011.

Winning photographs from each walk are featured below.
