South Melbourne Market Parking Guide

The South Melbourne Market has two free car parks available for shoppers during market days. Parking is free but limited to two hours.

  • The ground carpark located at the bottom end of York Street (85 spaces),
  • The entrance to the roof top carpark is located on the other side of the Market, off Coventry Street (300 spaces).


Both the rooftop carpark and the York Street carparks fill up pretty quickly on market days. Shoppers may find it helpful to study our street parking guide for alternative spaces around the market.

On non-market days (Monday, Tuesday & Thursday), parking is available in the same car parks but you will need to 'pay and display'. (Refer to the ticket machines for current rates.)
