Rail Freight 08 Community Summit

 “Shaping Victoria's Future In Freight”

August 14 2008 11am - 4.45pm, St Kilda Town Hall

Rail Freight 08 Community Summit brings together citizens and industry experts to deconstruct and discuss a complicated transport issue that needs to be resolved.

Industry and academic experts predict devastating impacts on our society, economy and environment if regional rail service operations are terminated and we face a future without a country rail freight service. The day will provide input, thoughts and ideas on how Victoria should respond.

To be opened by the Minister for Transport, Lynne Kosky, and carefully planned to capture various viewpoints, including that of guest speaker the Hon. Tim Fischer, Rail Freight 08 is attracting attention nation-wide.

When Rail Freight 08 concludes, information provided by industry and academic experts will be collated and provided to the Minister as a community contribution to finding the pathway forward. The Alliance of Councils for Rail Freight Development welcomes your input in Shaping Victoria's Future in Freight.
