Port Melbourne - May 16, 2005

Port Melbourne neighbourhood forum participants were asked to identify 10 things that make them passionate about Port. The 5 seconds download via 56K modemResults - Why I'm passionate about Port are now available. This information will be made available to all part of the council organisation, and used as an input for future planning and service delivery activities in Port Melbourne.

The council has also received the following feedback:

  • Someone called this morning to say 'she had thoroughly enjoyed herself'. When did anyone say that about a council meeting?
  • I could feel the ambience around me and went home tired (a good sign) and more informed about my neighbourhood.
  • The atmosphere was quite different from the usual somewhat adversarial flavour.
  • From the moment I walked into the Yacht club (1st time!!) till I left, I felt the involvement of everyone involved in the evening.
  • Right throughout the evening I was proud to be an employee, and a ratepayer/resident, of the City of Port Phillip, and proud to work with such enthusiastic, articulate and well-informed colleagues.
  • Cr Janet Bolitho's was a refreshing experience with her calm clear and knowledgeable address.
  • Congratulations on a terrific event last night - it was a very novel and successful approach.
