Carlisle St Activity Centre
Neighbourhood Character Statements - Residential Precincts
The Structure Plan directs the majority of new residential development to locations within the activity centre, in preference to the surrounding established residential areas.
Draft Neighbourhood Character Information Sheets have been prepared for ten (10) residential precincts surrounding the activity centre (residential areas which are not covered by Heritage Controls). These will help ensure that where new residential development does occur, it contributes toward the desired streetscape character. Each Information Sheet defines:
- A Preferred Neighbourhood Character Statement
- Design Guidelines - objectives and a design response for key character elements including; existing building style, siting, height and form, materials and design detail and front boundary treatments (eg fence styles).
Download this Residential Areas Fact Sheet which provides an overview of how new development within the established residential areas will be managed, and how the Information Sheets will be used.
