Local TV

SKA TV - Inner South Eastern Access Television

Once known as St Kilda Access Television, SKA TV was formed in 1988 and works primarily within Melbourne's inner South-Eastern suburbs.

Broadcasting throughout metropolitan Melbourne on Channel 31, SKA TV produces programs on local issues that highlight our diverse communities.

Providing television broadcasting opportunities to those who would otherwise be denied access, SKA TV is a forum for new ideas and alternative viewpoints. SKA TV gives a voice to small groups and those with fewer resources, and encourages ethnic diversity in the community with programs in languages other than English. Priority is given to subjects of local relevance, social justice issues, music and the arts.

SKA TV provides members of the community with educational opportunities and appropriate and adequate training in all areas of production, administration and other skills required to produce and broadcast television.

SKA TV is committed to three primary concerns:

  • Community involvement
  • Community access to programming and production facilities
  • Training - especially for the young and unemployed

For more information about SKA TV and the programs it produces, visit SKA TV www.skatv.org.au or call (03) 9663 6976.
