Wheelbarrow library wins award and international acclaimOur Beach wheelbarrow library service recently won a Customer Service Innovation Award courtesy of Civica - the people who provide us with Spydus, our library management software system. Hurrah for orange barrows! The same service also gained a write up in a prestigious U.S library journal and subsequently we received messages of acclaim from librarians throughout the United States. One librarian wrote: "I felt absolutely compelled to write and congratulate you on such a fabulous idea. Such flashes of brilliance should be acknowledged. I just wish we had a beach here in Chilicothe, Illinois, for me to 'borrow' your idea." See the wheelbarrow library page for all the sun-baked and sandy details of our adventures. Showerhead exchange available at the LibraryTo help raise awareness of water saving issues the City of Port Phillip, with support from South East Water, are offering Port Phillip residents a great opportunity - exchange your old inefficient showerhead, and get a new water saving one for free! The Port Melbourne, Albert Park and St Kilda libraries are all acting as exchange points for the showerheads. For all the details of the exchange program - who is eligible, what you need to do and where you can get your water saving showerhead - see the Showerhead Exchange Program page. SSSSHH!
