Use of library computers is FREE! Printing costs 20c a page (black & white) or $1.00 per page (colour, St. Kilda only).

Bookings are essential - the service is extremely popular so we recommend you make a prior booking. For each service you can book for a maximum of one hour and only one booking can be made at a time. Bookings are held for 10 minutes only past the start of the booking time.

Staff can get first time internet users started - let us know when you make your booking that you'd like a hand.

PCs and internet terminals offer Word, Excel and PowerPoint as well as facilities to type and read in a range of foreign languages. A scanner is available at some branches.

You can make a booking for any of these services by phone or when you visit the library. Check out the Library Branch locations and contact details.

Free wireless internet access at St Kilda Library

St Kilda Library now has a wireless hot spot. This is situated in the quiet study area at the front of the library. To access this you need:

  • to be a member of the Port Phillip Library Service
  • a laptop with wireless capability
  • a booking docket which you print out from the self service slip printer at the internet bookings desk (this docket provides you with your username and password for the session).

Wireless internet sessions last for two hours from the time you log in and each user is limited to one session per day.

NB: The internet is a public communications network which poses some security risk. Cautious wireless clients may choose not to transmit their credit card information and passwords while using WiFi hot spots, including the St Kilda Library's. The St Kilda Library cannot assure the safety of your data when you use either our wired or wireless Internet access.
