Kyme Place Car Park

 Kyme Place Car Park - 121 Liardet Street, Port Melbourne.

There is a proposal to transfer part of the property in the Kyme Place car park to the Port Phillip Housing Association (PPHA) for a community housing project. Council proposes to transfer Lot 2 on Plan of Subdivision PS627662F to PPHA for nominal consideration.

The proposal incorporates the following;

  • Land at ground level and air space to be transferred to PPHA to facilitate a community housing development for which a planning permit has been granted,
  • Council to retain title to ground level car parking,
  • Widening of Kyme Place, and
  • Road discontinuance of part of the site.
     

Council has heard verbal submissions and is considering those and written submissions made as part of the public consultation. It is now set to make a final decision at its meeting to be held on 24 May.

In accordance with the requirements of the Local Government Act 1989, the proposal was advertised in local papers. Submissions were received up until 7 April 2010.
