Reconciliation and Banking Officer

We are amalgamating our front of house cashiering and our customer service centres to enhance the customer experience of Council service delivery.  We require a highly committed person to ensure that the reconciliation of Council's receipting, cashiering and banking functions and processes are undertaken accurately and operate in accordance with Council policy and procedures.

This position will also be involved delivering the day to day operational activities of the Rates and Revenue Section.

If you are ready for a challenge and believe you have the following knowledge and skills we would like to hear from you.

  • High level customer service and communication skills
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills including ability to undertake process reviews and develop improvements
  • Proven experience in the use and application of computerised rating, receipting, debtor and banking systems to   deliver functional outcomes
  • Experience in cashiering services and application of cash handling controls
  • Well developed skills in MSOffice

An attractive salary in the range of $ 48,347 - 56,336 plus superannuation will be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Strategic Planner/Project Manager

A background in urban planning or a related discipline, preferably within local government, is required.  Experience in the preparation of planning scheme amendments, the development of activity centre structure plans / urban design frameworks, and general project management skills will be highly regarded.

Procurement/Tender & Contracts Senior Advisor

We seek a strategic thinker with in depth experience in tendering and contracting procedures.  You will have a proven track record in managing procurement projects; excellent analytical skills; solid contracts administration experience, and expertise in probity and tender management.  Public sector experience is desirable but not essential.

This is a new position, supervising a small team, and providing leadership for a continuous improvement program for the organisation's contracting and tendering.  Day to day duties will include specialist advice on tender procedures and on probity, sitting on or advising tender evaluation panels, and reporting regularly on tendering and contracting activities across the organisation.

Local Laws Team Leader

Our busy, professional local laws team is in need of a Team Leader.  This is a newly created position for the busy Local Laws unit.

The person we are seeking will:-

  • Have proven leadership skills and be able to provide assistance and guidance to a small team to promote service culture in an enforcement role.
  • Have excellent time management skills.
  • Be able to investigate and assess alleged non-compliance of the Community Amenity Local Laws No. 3 & 7 and other relevant State Legislation such as the Environment Protection Act & Summary Offences Act.
  • Have experience in evidence gathering and brief preparation for hearing at the Magistrates' Court and or VCAT
  • There is a requirement for rostered weekend work.  This position is entitled to salary sacrifice a vehicle.

Administrative Support Officer/Cashier - South Melbourne Market

An exciting opportunity exists for a suitably qualified and experienced Administrative Support Officer/Cashier to work within the dynamic and vibrant South Melbourne Market where growth and development is encouraged.

Your key accountabilities and responsibilities will include:

  • Cashiering and other general administrative services
  • Provision of high quality customer services
  • Contribution to the commercial imperatives of a busy market.
  • Ongoing trader liaison with the market's stall holders

You will be employed under the terms of our enterprise agreement (Casual Band 4) with an hourly rate range of $26.06 to $28.30 per hour plus superannuation. Weekend work is a requirement of the position.
